Draft Cemeteries Management Plan Consultation

Overview

Cemeteries are important places of remembrance, heritage and connection. The Draft Cemeteries Management Plan (the Plan) brings together Council’s current policies and practices for the cemeteries we manage.

The Plan explains what to expect when using Council cemeteries, including information about plots, exclusive rights of burial, headstones, adornments and cemetery opening hours. The Plan does not propose any changes to cemetery services or how cemeteries are managed day to day.

Why your views matter

We would like to know if you agree with the direction in the Plan and if it covers the right matters. This includes the proposal to revoke Council’s Exclusive Right of Burial Policy, as the direction from this policy is now included in the Plan.

Your feedback will help Council finalise the Cemeteries Management Plan.
