Proposed Building Act Fees and Charges 2026-27

Overview

Each year, the Building Control group reviews its fees and charges to ensure they remain fair and reflect the actual cost of providing services to users. This review allows us to adjust fees to reflect changes in service costs, ensuring they are up-to-date and reasonable. It also helps us collect fees for any new processes or costs, in line with our Revenue and Financing Policy.

For 2026-27, we propose an overall increase of 3.1 per cent in line with the Consumers Price Index (CPI), along with several targeted amendments to better align fees with operating costs.
